Submissions to HRLR Online

We are currently accepting submissions for HRLR Online for 2022-2023.

The Columbia Human Rights Law Review launched an online component, HRLR Online, in Fall 2016. For HRLR Online we seek shorter, cutting-edge pieces that deal with pressing human rights issues or provide commentary on recent human rights scholarship. We welcome works by scholars, practitioners, and others with knowledge of the human rights field.

Submission Format

• Submit only one, double spaced copy of your manuscript. We greatly prefer if submissions appear in Microsoft Word format.
• Submitted articles should range from 15-25 pages and be double-spaced in a 12-point font with 1" margins.
• Text and citations should conform to A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020) (“The Bluebook”). Footnotes are strongly preferred over endnotes.
• We encourage the use of gender-neutral language.

Submissions should include author resume and contact information (address, phone number, and email address).

We will do our best to honor all expedite requests and to provide a prompt publication decision.
